Mentorship Program
The main goals of this program are to
1. Develop fellowship amongst Eritrean kids in the D.C. metro area
2. Bridge gaps between school age and adult Eritrean youth
3. Match kids with people who are in their desired career paths
4. Create a platform for parent/youth dialogues
5. Have fun and explore the D.C. metro area
NUEYS-DC matches 15 college age and professional Eritreans with middle school and high school age Eritrean kids. Some events we have participated include bowling, ice-skating, tubing, museums and more.

Fourth Mentorship Event Held 2/23
This round table discussion will target issues facing Eritrean young adults today. Bringing together school age kids with college aged adults, the event is meant encourage honest discussion of pertinent topics facing youth today with the goal of offering substantive strategies and advice.
Among the topics, parent/child relationships, technology, education, peer pressure, cultural identity, and all topics that come up during discussion. These topics will be discussed in a responsible and appropriate manner with a tone geared towards the middle school/high school age group.
