NUEYS-NA

The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students-North America (NUEYS-NA) is an umbrella organization that brings together sister NUEYS chapters and Eritrean youth organizations in the United States and Canada. Several organizations working with the expressed mission of empowering Eritrean youth through educational, professional and social development and fostering a greater understanding of Eritrean culture and identity form this vast network. Member cities included Washington, DC, Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Atlanta and Chicago.

NUEYS-NA seeks to serve as a resource to local youth organizations, by providing assistance in program development, organizational capacity building, leadership skill training and grant seeking among other things. It also provides a forum for existing member organizations to exchange ideas, share experiences and offer tools for success.

NUEYS-NA hosts an annual Leadership Conference that brings youth leaders together for three days of leadership training seminars and workshops led by leading experts. NUEYS-NA also provides guidance to local communities that would like to establish a NUEYS chapter in their own cities.

To find out more about NUEYS-NA or how to start your own NUEYS chapter, email NUEYS-NA at na-pr@nueys.org.

Some NUEYS-NA programs in the works are SUBA professional youth internship program in Eritrea, sister-city alliances, and an annual youth tour to Eritrea.

The 2009 NUEYS-NA Leadership Conference is scheduled to be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
